Santa is red because of Coca Cola (originally green), Christ was not born in december but somewhere towards the end of summer and christians were fed up with the pagans celbrating their own holidays (Solsctice etc) during that time, so they switched to December.

I made (sewing) all my presents this year, and there was nothing as rewarding as that...It took me a lot of time, but my energy put in each piece was felt by each person who received it. Except maybe my grandma... oddly enough. I have a snobby lebanese grandma (LOL), that has grown sour, and that dosent like to have her husband cooking all day for the holidays although he loves it... What can I say? My german gandma would love to have my lebanese grandpa as a husband and/or company, whereas my lebanese grandma would love to be alone.

Christmas for me was rarely religious, but definitely has always been about gatherings and food. Its 2 years we celebrate christmas with my mom, siblings and friends that dont have family in this province or country. I know the feeling, and dont wish it to anybody.

Yet, I have made a long process to get over it myself. Most my family is or in Lebanon or in Germany (and I hardly know my german family)and yet I dont belong there and I dont belong here. I grew to realize I dont need roots, simply to know where I come from and to remember it.Itzelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12178551128504989535noreply@blogger.com
